چکیده

The arrival of a negative customer to a queueing system causes one ordinary customer to be removed (or killed) if any is present. The arrival of a disaster, on the other hand, kills all the customers in the system if any. In this paper, we extend the queueing theory on negative arrivals and disasters to the discrete-time Geo=Geo=1 queueing system. Speci2cally, we 2nd the ergodicity condition and give explicit formulae for the stationary distribution. We also provide some numerical results to illustrate the e4ect of the parameters on several performance characteristics. ? 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Discrete Time Analysis of Multi-Server Queueing System with Multiple Working Vacations and Reneging of Customers‎

This paper analyzes a discrete-time $Geo/Geo/c$ queueing system with multiple working vacations and reneging in which customers arrive according to a geometric process. As soon as the system gets empty, the servers go to a working vacations all together. The service times during regular busy period, working vacation period and vacation times are assumed to be geometrically distributed. Customer...

Policy Set-Up Time, Multiple Vacation and Disasters

This paper studies the / / 1 Geo G queue model with , p N policy set-up time, multiple vacation and disasters. The server will start up the random set-up period with the probability p if the customer number is at least N at the end of a random length V of the holiday. Otherwise, the server takes vacation repeatedly with the probability p . Using embedded Markov chain and supplemental variable m...

A discrete - time Geo [ X ] / G / 1 retrial queue with control of admission

This paper analyses a discrete-time Geo/G/1 retrial queue with batch arrivals in which individual arriving customers have a control of admission. We study the underlying Markov chain at the epochs immediately after the slot boundaries making emphasis on the computation of its steady-state distribution. To this end we employ numerical inversion and maximum entropy techniques. We also establish a...

A discrete-time Geo/G/1 retrial queue with starting failures and second optional service

We consider a discrete-time Geo/G/1 retrial queue with starting failures in which all the arriving customers require a first essential service while only some of them ask for a second optional service. We study the Markov chain underlying the considered queueing system and its ergodicity condition. Explicit formulae for the stationary distribution and some performance measures of the system in ...

Cost Analysis of a Discrete-time Queue

 Abstract—This paper considers a Geo/G/1 queue, in which the server operates a single vacation at end of each consecutive service period. After all the customers in the system are served exhaustively, the server immediately leaves for a vacation. Upon returning from the vacation, the server inspects the queue length. If there are customers waiting in the queue, the server either resumes servin...
